Are you an innovator passionate about sustainable urban development? Do you have a service or product that can improve the efficiency and liveability of our built environments? If so, participate in TheCityFix Labs India’s first initiative: Accelerating Innovation: Water | Waste | Energy!
The overall goal of TheCityFix Labs is to establish a platform to help coordinate investors and the state for public good by helping to connect the innovation ecosystem. The Lab will help identify solutions on building efficiency, water management/efficiency and waste management, that will contribute to building and scaling sustainable built environments.
The Lab will work with a cohort of enterprises to refine solutions that would appeal to State government programs and at the same time, evolve business models that can gain private financing access and support. Further, enterprises that emerge from the Lab will have the opportunity to implement pilots in Hyderabad.

What kind of solutions are we looking for?TheCityFix Labs will support innovations that are easy to integrate into existing or new built spaces, create value for the entire ecosystem and have the potential for scaling. Proposals need to address at least one of the following components.
Opportunity
What does the Lab offer ?TheCityFix Labs offers exposure and engagement with key stakeholders for emerging solutions to take off and maintain momentum in the post-lab and post-pilot phase. It seeks to create a coalition of government and private sector action that can scale quickly. To aid development of their solutions in collaboration with various stakeholders, shortlisted candidates will receive the following:
Enterprise
Workshops tailored to support:
- business development and strategy, and business plan reviews
- pilot design and implementation
- legal compliance
- government engagement
- team building and other technical support
Exposure
The opportunity to associate with WRI India’s domain experts and a global network of mentors including:
- government officials at the national, state and local scale
- potential investors
- markets, including resident welfare associations, developers, and facilities management companies
- technical experts
Eligibility
Who can apply?TheCityFix Labs will support innovations that are -
- Led by entrepreneurs, businesses, technology companies, associations, city governments, etc. who have in-depth knowledge about their markets.
- Post prototype with at least 1 demonstration on-ground.
- Scalable
The Applicants must:
- Be registered as a legal entity in India, or have an Indian partner
- Operate in an Indian city
- Have a solution that is in the post-pilot or scale-up stage
- Abide by the Terms and Conditions of the Lab
- Be available to develop, showcase and pitch their projects in the period between January and July 2019.
